Béjot, Eugène

1867 – 1931
French

An artist synonymous with 19th century scenes of Paris, Eugène Béjot’s etchings give present day collectors an almost photographic view of the city.  His natural skill as a print maker was recognized and encouraged by such eminent etchers as Henri Gabriel Ibels, Félix Bracquemond and Henri Guérard.  He became a member of the Société des Peintres-Graveurs in 1893, the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers in 1908 and a Chevalier of the Legion d’Honneur in 1912.
