Tissandier, Albert

1839 – 1906
French

Though Albert Tissandier was an accomplished architect, aviator and illustrator, he was probably best known as the brother and collaborator of the adventurer Gaston Tissandier.  Together they produced the scientific journal “Le Nature”, they were passionate hot air balloonists and they demonstrated the world’s first electrically powered flight.

His detailed illustrations recorded his travels to exotic locations as well as his fascination with flight.
