DeFeure, Georges

1868 – 1943

Born in Paris to Belgian and Dutch parents, Georges de Feure studied under Jules Cheret and became a sought after illustrator and poster artist.

Although he is best known as an Art Nouveau decorator and designer, most famously his interior for the cabaret Le Chat Noir, he was an accomplished print maker as well. In fact, de Feure produced over 400 lithographs, many on the subject of women.
